HIU - HEAT INTERFACE UNIT

HIUs (heat interface units) are thermal-hydraulic units that allow autonomous management of the heating system and the production of domestic hot water of the utilities in central heating systems.

They are typically installed in residential complexes with many housing units, where it is necessary to exploit the thermal power made available by a shared heat generator.

Heating is managed and brought to the individual apartments thanks to a connection between the building’s heat generator and the individual houses that are managed individually thanks to the HIU module.

These modules therefore provide the most compact, complete and efficient solution in this context:

- utilities served directly by small district heating networks without the interpositon of substations;

- centralized systems that exploit the power produced by a thermal power plant able to draw from different energy sources.

So HIUs combine the benefits in terms of energy efficiency and easy of maintenance of a centralized system with the freedom of autonomous management of the typical thermo-regulation of a domestic boiler. HIUs are also predisposed for the accounting of thermal and water user consumptions.

The range of NOVAHIU products is divided into 5 types, depending on the different market demands, with the possibility of managing heating and domestic hot water production in different design configurations.

The NOVAHIU V1 module manages the heating indirectly. Through this module the heating flow is administred according to the needs of the apartment.

The NOVAHIU V1 module, in addition of the different product size (from 16 kW, 22 kW and 32 kW), is in turn divided into Basic and Premium versions. In this last version (compared to Basic one) are added a PV valve to control the differential pressure on the primary circuit, and a thermostatic valve to control the temperature on the supply circuit to the apartment heating.
